While not a non-profit, our work is mission-driven and focused on delivering high-quality, person-centered care in collaboration with government agencies and social workers.

Can I volunteer or donate support to Binkadi?

Due to the nature of the work and the level of care required, volunteering at Binkadi involves completing the same orientation and training as our staff. At this time, we are not accepting volunteers, but we appreciate your interest and support.

How long a youth can stay at Binkadi?

The length of stay varies dependent on the goals of each child or youth and their families.

What is the age range of the youths?

They can stay at Binkadi until they turn 19 years old.

Can families visit the kids/youths in the Binkadi homes?

Family visits within in the home or possible on a case by case basis.

What rights do children and youth have while in care at Binkadi?

Every child and youth in our care has the right to feel safe, respected, and heard. At Binkadi, we follow the Youth Rights Document outlined by the Ministry of Children and Family Development (MCFD), which ensures that all young people understand their rights and are supported in exercising them.

 When a caregiver is hired, they complete an intensive orientation that includes training videos and presentations designed to equip them with all the skills needed for the role. Do I need experience or certification to work at Binkadi?

All new staff go through a structured orientation and training process to ensure they’re well prepared to support the children and youth in our care. You will also need to complete a First Aid course before your first day of work.
